Tickled Ears

If one wants ones ears tickled the Strange Classrooms are NOT for you!

“For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear.” 2 Timothy 4:3

Having attended many Strange Classrooms dealing with the bad side of human nature; I fell into the trap that Friedrich Nietzsche  speaks of, “He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you.” I did not like the monster I had become, driven by alcohol, so my first step was to address the obvious problem and quit the drinking. Easier thought than done, and I sought help in the AA; not the one that fixes cars! This was my stepping stone to many, many more Strange Classrooms of a positive nature.

Those first lessons were hard for me to swallow and I looked for the easier softer way, to no avail. The people that tickled my ears became my enemy; they were of no real help what so ever, they hindered me instead. The ones that told me the unmitigated truth about myself I hated at first; but I knew I had to change or die, literally.  Humility did not just come to me, life BEAT it into me.

The most important thing I learned in the beginning of this journey was that hanging onto my old ideas/ideals was harming me greatly, completely in contrast to what I had believed up till then. So I wiped my page clean and listened to my teachers and the results were amazing. It all boils down to how much you want to change, how much you are willing to let go of, and what you decide to replace your old behavior with. You cannot be a passenger on this journey, you have to drive yourself.

Or you can just continue to jump around finding people/teachers that will tickle your ears and keep you exactly in the place where you are now.

What do you choose?

A compilation of my Strange Classrooms is soon to be released, please “Like” and  keep an eye on this page.
