Yes, gratitude. I woke up this morning thinking about what my strange classrooms had taught me about gratitude. I use to belong to an online group that had a “Gratitude Wednesday.” Every Wednesday the members post what they have to be grateful for at that moment, which links with the philosophy of “living in the moment” that the group follows. It can make one ashamed to read this,….. looking in the mirror, honestly, is one of the hardest things one can do, no?

Then, I got an email message from a friend, and she was talking about this exact thing! Here is a piece of what she had sent me. I could not have written it better. She is one of my strange teaches, in my Strange Classrooms, I am grateful for that, today.

“Your problems seem so HUGE ! Your life seems on a spiral … a spinning top …. Out of control ! But when you stand still … and look around you …. There is someone who is in deeper pain …. Bigger issues . If you pack up your troubles and put them in a bag … and throw them high up in the sky …. You pray with all your might you catch that same bag ….. for there is someone out there who is far worse off then you !”

There you have it. Think about what you have to be grateful today, you will be surprised.

I always am.

A compilation of my Strange Classrooms is soon to be released, please “Like” and  keep an eye on this page.
