Women and Wolves

Why would any self respecting woman want to even talk to someone like the Mexican, let alone join up with him? In my unusual classrooms I learned why, the hard and painful way, as is usual. I went from a hard drinking, hard fighting man to the epitome of a gentleman. This took a bit of time. When I had it down pat I found this problem emerged, women just did not like me anymore! Oh, they wanted to be “just friends”, I  *&#!  HATE that statement. The first woman I got involved  with while in this mode often said how she would like to see me drunk, and eventually told me I was “too nice.” She broke up with me, telling me she was looking for a cowboy. I filed that for future reference. This happened in various forms the whole time I played “Mr. AA.” I was being good to the extreme.. Eventually I gave that up and went on a mission for  years, had a lot of fun, but got into a lot of trouble too, as the Chronicles II show. This I filed for future reference as well.

So I learned that me in particular, and women in general do not like being in the box that society tries to force upon us, I choose not to be in the box and accept the consequences, if not gladly – willingly. Also the word balance comes into play, when to be a Mexican and when not!

Regarding women? The excerpt below shows why women would and sometimes do run with the Mexican.

Women Who Run with the Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estes, Ph.D

“A healthy woman is much like a wolf: robust, chock-full, strong life force, life-giving, territorially aware, inventive, loyal, and roving. Yet separation from the wildish nature causes a woman’s personality to become meager, thin, ghostly, spectral. We are not meant to be puny with frail hair and inability to leap up, inability to give chase, to birth, to create a life. When women’s lives are in stasis, ennui, it is always time for the wildish woman to emerge; it is time for the creating function of the psyche to flood the delta…It means to establish territory, to find one’s pack, to be in one’s body with certainty and pride regardless of the body’s gifts and limitations, to speak and act in one’s behalf, to be aware, alert, to draw on the innate feminine powers of intuition and sensing, to come into one’s cycles, to find what one belongs to, to rise with dignity, to retain as much consciousness as we can.”
